Challenge

Large companies—particularly tech companies—face recurring issue of not walking the walk when it comes to diversity and inclusion. Cyborg Mobile partnered with Microsoft to tackle this issue and create a program to tap into high potential students from underrepresented communities to bring innovative ideas into the company.

Approach

The New Technologists (TNT) was created in partnership with Microsoft, designed as a summer academy focused on productivity, communication and collaboration for college students from underrepresented minority groups. TNT inspires ideation and introduces various tools and programming languages, allowing participants a chance to be introduced to Microsoft’s recruiting pipeline.

Value

Cyborg Mobile has helped one of the largest tech companies in the world to change the way they view and do their recruiting. We’ve developed this program from inception to scaled growth over time. The talent pipeline, screening, hiring, onboarding, professional development, technical training and the D&I training for the Microsoft program staff. We just had wrapped up another successful cohort (fifth one) nearly 75% of attendees being invited back to Microsoft in some capacity.
